Treasures of Yesteryear starts with what you have. Take a photo and we'll help you understand the item, preserve what you know about it, and decide what should happen next.
The item journey
Every item follows the same simple path — whether you eventually keep it, share it, or find it a new home.
Step 1
Take or upload a photo
Take a new photo or upload one you already have. You don't need to decide what you'll do with the item yet.
Step 2
Understand what you have
AI helps identify the item, its likely era, maker, condition, and an approximate value range — with clear uncertainty where identification is limited. An estimate based on the information available, not a professional appraisal.
Step 3
Add its story
Type or speak what's worth preserving: who owned it, where it came from, memories connected to it, why it matters. Kept with your item and never automatically included in a Marketplace listing.
Step 4
Decide what comes next
Keep, pass down, offer to family, sell, donate, rehome for free, recycle, dispose — or leave it undecided. The item is permanent; its destination is a decision you can change over time.
Market value and family value aren't always the same thing
- An object can have little financial value but enormous sentimental meaning.
- Something worth very little to the family may be treasured by someone else.
- An overlooked item may turn out to be historically significant or rare.
- Others carry both — or neither — but still deserve a thoughtful decision.
Treasures helps you understand what you have before deciding what should happen to it. If something might be uncommon, we'll gently suggest researching it further before you sell, donate, or discard it.
Your item's story stays private
The story you write — names, memories, family history — is kept with your item and never automatically included in a Marketplace listing or shared with a buyer. When you choose to sell, we prepare a separate buyer-friendly description you review before anything leaves your item's private working environment.

You don't start over. The photos, identification, condition, and useful facts you've already added get reused. A trusted family member or friend handles Facebook Marketplace using their own account.

Nothing is sent until you explicitly choose to send it. Editing an item, changing a photo, selecting a destination, or preparing Marketplace copy never sends anything on its own.
